Rodney Brent - Christmas Tape 1985 (1985)

There was significant debate in the CCPS offices as to whether to post this now or wait until Christmas. We're using the fact that the last week brought snow to our fair city as an excuse to go ahead now.

We've seen a lot of Rodney Brent's work on here, in various forms. This tape fits in nicely with the other Bartok Guitarsplat recordings we've featured, it's a good collection of little guitar doodles.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

As far as I'm concerned, Rodney Brent is a Canadian rock'n'roll HERO!

He has done SO much for original music in so many capacities AND in cities all across our great land!

One of my fave memories is Rodney doing an unannounced set at the Color Me Psycho "Kiss Me..." release party at the Music Box. Backlit by a single bright white light, Rodney (Tall and Lanky with a Cowboy hat on) improvised a solo set accompanying himself on guitar singing about "Elvis and Jerry Lee!". Brother Jeff and I were slack-jawed in awe!

Mr. Brent is a GENIUS plus one of the nicest people you'll ever meet!
